Good Beer Guide pub near [[Charing Cross Station]] and the National Portrait Gallery. The windows at the front are opened in nice weather to let the breeze and sunshine in. Six real ales on tap, all under £3 as far as I could tell. On our visit in August 2007 the beers available were Landlord (£2.90), Belhaven Fruit Beer (£2.90), Bateman's XXXB, Spitfire, and Harvey's Sussex Best.

This was very busy due no doubt to the proximity of Theatreland and Charing Cross. The upstairs room was closed for a private booking, so it might be better another time; it started to empty a bit after 7 and we managed to claim a corner. Not a place to take a large group without a booking.

The only food served is sausages in baguettes, but they're "award-winning" sausages, and they're served all day.
