On Bob's visit on a Thursday evening in June 2019 the pub was full with some space outside at some normal height tables. They have a strong beer Thursday. bob had a bad seed rustic charm (£4) which was fine.

Micropub in Sidcup, in the Good Beer Guide.

It's a fairly standard shop-conversion micropub, with a low ceiling, dried hops above the bar, old pump badges displayed on the wall above the door, high dark-varnished chairs and tables to the sides of the room, and a large barrel in the centre to rest one's pint. Walls are painted dark grey and hung with black-and-white vintage photos of horse-drawn cabs.

Behind the small bar at the back is a window onto the "cellar" from which ales are dispensed on gravity. The light fittings above the bar are unusual — shaped like two top hats and a bowler hat, with ravens perched on top.

Kake visited on a Tuesday afternoon in October 2018. Arriving just after the opening time of 3pm, I was the first customer of the day, though one other did arrive while I was there. No music was playing.

There were seven real ales (one on keykeg), including Revolutions Grip (£1.80/half), and one keykeg craft lager from Westerham. The six non-keykeg ales were all priced at either £3.60 or £3.80.

They don't do any proper bar snacks, just bags of peanuts and crisps.

Kake's verdict: I'm unlikely to return due to the lack of accessible seating.

Child-friendliness: According to the Hackney Carriage website as of November 2018, children are welcome until 7pm.

Accessibility: A step to get in. No further steps to the toilets. All the seating is on high stools or high benches at high tables.
