Music shop on Store Street in Bloomsbury.

Previously located on the east side of Golden Square in Soho photo, it moved to Bloomsbury in December 2012.

We haven't visited since the move, so some of the information below may be out of date.

They sell drums, percussion, orchestral strings, brass, and woodwind instruments. They have a very good range of stock available in store, with a wide range of manufacturers, and price points represented. It is probably not the place to go looking for a bargain, but if you are looking to try a wide variety of instruments you will have a hard time finding somewhere better.

The service is reasonably good by music shop standards: no one has actually been rude to Richard, but if there is anything more interesting going on expect to be ignored for a little while. The staff, whilst obviously being musicians, aren't terribly invested in the success of the shop and so won't go out of their way to offer you help or advice.

The percussion section has a good range of full drum kits and not a bad range of cymbals for a their limited space. They also have a number of digital/electronic kits out on display. There is a range of other larger drums (congas, etc.) as well as a reasonable selection of hardware. If you are after something specific in a hurry you should probably phone ahead to see if they have it in stock.

There were signs up advertising several tutorial sessions.

Last visited (at the old location) by Richard, July 2008. Opening hours taken from Foote's website, December 2012.
