Traditional-stylee pub in Brentford near Kew Bridge Station, in the Good Beer Guide.

Kake visited on a Friday evening around 6pm; possibly not a fair time to assess a pub, but it was pretty quiet. No piped music, but there was a piano out the back that someone occasionally played a few bars on. There was a chap sitting in the corner staring at me (in a slack-jawed "been drinking all day" manner, not in an "I am an axe murderer" one). Service was friendly enough, though. I might give it another go some time, but I'd not make a special journey to come here.

I had a pint of Young's bitter at £2.60; other beers available were Bombardier (£2.75) and the amusingly-named Piddle in the Cold (£2.60).

The 2008 Good Beer Guide says food is served lunchtimes; I asked about evening food and was told that they normally do it but the landlord's wife was on holiday so they weren't doing food at all.
