Randomness Guide to London - Differences between Version 15 and Version 14 of Enterprise, NW3 2BL

Version 15 Version 14

It used to be a somewhat basic pub with frequent live music (see old version of this page for details), but underwent a significant refurbishment around 2017, which included replacement of the gig venue upstairs with several hotel rooms.
Note: [https://www.kentishtowner.co.uk/2017/05/05/youve-never-3-enterprise/ According to Kentishtowner], the Enterprise has had a significant refurbishment since we last visited. Some or all of the below is probably now out of date.

Today, the ground-floor pub is a single room with a large island bar in the centre. Seating is squeezed in around the edges; a combination of banquettes, church pews, and low backless stools. Worn boards underfoot give way to black-and-white checkered tiles around the bar. Large windows on two sides let in plenty of sunlight.
When [[doop]] and [[Juliet]] visited in April 2007, there was Young's bitter available on handpump, but on a later visit by [[Kake]], [[Kat]], and others in September 2008, this had been replaced by Bass. Strongbow was £3.20/pint (September 2008).

[[Kake]] visited on a Monday morning in June 2019. Arriving shortly after 10am, I was the only customer throughout my visit, aside from a couple of hotel guests passing through. The flatscreen was showing Sky News with the sound on, not too loud. The handpumps were clipped for Sharp's Doom Bar and Five Points Citrus Pale.
They seem quite keen on their music: there's usually something guitar-based playing, and they have quite a lot of events on; the pub even used to have its own Myspace page. On our Friday evening visit in September 2008, the place was full to bursting and the music was turned up loud enough that even shouted conversation was quite difficult.

They were having a problem with the gas supply to the kitchen, so only a few things on the breakfast menu were available; I chose the avocado, feta, macerated cherry tomatoes, and chilli oil on sourdough toast (£5.50) [https://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/48052087273/ photo]. Unfortunately it was a bit of a mess. The salad leaves piled on top seemed quite old and wilted, and one or two of them were actually rotten. The avocado had a ripe texture but tasted of very little. Crispy fried onions were scattered incongruously around the plate. The toast was made from decent quality bread, but had no spread so was quite dry, and there was just one thin slice of it, totally out of proportion with the large quantities of avocado and feta.
There are a couple of seats outside, but only in good weather as there's no shelter. They have WiFi: you need to ask someone behind the bar for the password.

Earl Grey tea (£2.50) was made with a standard teabag, but nicely presented with a pre-warmed cup.
Food is served in the evening at least; see [http://flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/2843226589/sizes/l/ photo of the menu as of September 2008], which includes bangers and mash made with several types of specialist sausages.

Accessibility: No steps to get in, and none to the toilets. There seems to be a lift to the hotel rooms on the upper floor, but we didn't investigate this in detail.
