A decent pub not too far from Dalston Kingsland Station, to the north of De Beauvoir Town.

Inside, the bar takes up a large amount of space in the centre of the main room, around which are arrayed tables at various heights, and some comfortable sofas at the front of the building. Out back is a large function room space, also laid out for drinking when not booked, and in which there's generally plenty of space (there was on a Friday evening in January 2009 for our large group).

There are several handpulls at the bar, with London Pride, Greene King IPA and Sharp's Doom Bar (£3.20/pint) on offer in January 2009, perfectly well-kept. A decent selection of other draught lagers includes Staropramen and possibly Leffe, as well as a good range of spirits and a few wines.

The atmosphere is convivial, with fairly loud music playing, though not so noticeably loud in the back room. There was no evidence of food on the Friday evening, but they certainly serve Sunday roasts, and may do food on other days.
