A pub in Finchley, just around the corner from Finchley Central Station, part of the Mitchells & Butlers "unbranded" Castle sub-chain.

Despite its shop-front appearance at the ground level of a large office block, this is quite a cosy and attractive space, with large tables at the front, stretching around the bar to the back of the building. A large-screen TV shows sports in the back area, but sitting in the front is fairly sheltered from this. They also have some couches with low tables to match, and candles on the tables provide ambience. On a Saturday early evening visit, there was plenty of space still available for our group of six to sit down inside.

They have additional seating outside on the street, with plenty of tables (some under the awnings), for smokers.

The bar has three handpulls for ale, with London Pride and Adnam's the regulars (the latter is off on our February 2009 visit), and one guest ale. They also have Leffe, Staropramen, Franziskaner and the usual suspects for lager drinkers, plus a good range of bottled beer.

Food menu is fairly standard M&B stuff, with traditional pub foods offered, and a roast for Sundays (including vegetarian option).

A quiz is advertised on Wednesdays at 8:30pm.
