Young's pub between Bow Road Station and Mile End Station.

Kake visited on a Wednesday lunchtime in December 2007. Beers on offer were Winter Warmer, Young's Special (1.35/half), and Young's Bitter (£2.45/pint).

No music when I got there, just a nice buzz of conversation, but they started playing Christmas music after a while (possibly due to a request by the people who were there for their office Christmas party lunch). Quite spacious. Old-fashioned cushioned banquettes and round tables at the front and tables/chairs at the back beyond the bar. Most of the other customers on my lunchtime visit were there to get lunch.

Food is served noon-2pm and 6pm-9pm Mon-Fri; and 1pm-9pm Sat-Sun. Burgers are £6.55 (inc veggie burger); sausages and mash (inc veggie option) are also £6.55. Other mains are priced between £6.55 (e.g. fishcakes, cornish pasty, spag bol) and £9.25 (rump steak with chips, onion rings, and mushrooms). No actual sandwiches, but baguettes (e.g. cheese salad, BLT, tuna) are £4.25-£4.50, as are filled jacket potatoes. Desserts (e.g. treacle sponge) are £4.15.

I ordered a tuna baguette (£4.25, choice of salad or chips, and brown or white baguette) photo; it was pretty good, with fresh herbs on the salad (including sage, which worked surprisingly well; no actual dressing, but I didn't miss it) and obvious care taken over presentation.
