Pub opposite Teddington Station.
Prior to 2007, it was called the Railway, according to local CAMRA. Following a refurbishment, it reopened in April 2007, and it's now a self-described "shabby chic pub".
The pub is composed of several interconnected rooms. The front part has nice big windows to let the light in, with stained glass arch details at the top. The floor is bare hardwood, and tall freestanding candlesticks are arranged around the wooden tables and mismatched chairs. There's some sofa seating out the back.
Kake visited on a Saturday lunchtime in November 2008. There were one or two other customers but it was basically empty. Music was playing; it was quite good, relaxing and not too loud.
Service was friendly. I wanted a cup of tea (£1.50) but they'd run out of teabags so I had coffee (normally £2, but they only asked me for the tea price, as compensation). The coffee came as one of those individual filter things that sit on top of a cup. It was fine.
Although they have three handpumps on the bar, they had no clips on on my visit.
Signs advertised open mic night from 8pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, live music every other Thursday, a function room, and free wireless (ask at the bar for the key). According to their website, they serve both lunch and dinner.
