Historical version 12 of Anchor Tap, SE1 2LN (view current version)

Samuel Smith's pub in Bermondsey, on a side street near Tower Bridge. This used to be the brewery tap for the Courage brewery, which was based here from 1787 to 1981 and can still be seen when crossing Tower Bridge (it's now an apartment block).

It has a dedicated games room, which fullpint.com says contains (among other things) shove ha'penny.

Food served from noon until 8:45pm every day.

Has a courtyard, which you can smoke in.

Comment added by Kake: One step up to get in; ladies' and gents both upstairs (separate staircases). The stairs up to the ladies' are narrow, winding, and steep. Several small rooms inside connected by doors. One of them has a pool table. The "games room" is small and dim, with a couple of whirring, flashing games machines as well as tables inlaid with chess boards etc.

Comment added by bob: £3.02 for a pint of Soverign bitter and a half of extra stout. All nitrokegged.
