It's quite small, seating around 30 people. The tables bear white linen tableclothes with colourful inserts, protected by clear plastic overcloths. Fabric flowers sit in vases on each table.
Kake visited on a Saturday lunchtime in August 2013. I was the only customer when I arrived shortly after noon, though one other person did turn up while I was there. A flatscreen on the wall was showing a news channel with the sound on.
I went for one of the Ghanaian dishes: kenkey, a steamed fermented dough served with savoury chilli dipping sauces and fried shrimp (£5 at lunchtime) photo. The kenkey was beautifully sour, and the dipping sauces complemented it very well. The shrimp (actually king prawns) were fried to a lovely crispness, with the shells crunchy and edible, though I might have preferred slightly larger prawns for a greater ratio of flesh to shells.
Tap water arrived in a glass atop a small saucer, with ice provided in a small bowl alongside. Service was friendly, chatty, and welcoming.
Accessibility: No step to get in. A very small step to the toilets, plus the corridor to get there is very narrow.
