Pizza Lupa was a delivery-only (hence the rather unattractive photo) pizza place in Bermondsey. As of May 2015 it has been taken over by the Firezza chain. The information below is retained for historical purposes. <div class="old_info"> Delivery-only (hence the rather unattractive photo) pizza place in Bermondsey. Previously known as Cucina. Proper, tasty, thin-crust pizzas, not overloaded with toppings, with an emphasis on quality. Free delivery to SE1, SE16, E1, EC1, EC2, EC3, and EC4. They also sell ice cream supplied by Marine Ices. Sadly their other desserts are not all quite as good — tiramisu sampled by Kake in August 2010 was bland and tasted entirely non-alcoholic. Various combinations of Kake, Bob, doop, Juliet, and others have ordered from here many many times — as of 2010 we probably use them about once a week. Kake has found that the toppings on some of the pizzas are possibly a little <i>too</i> scanty, but recommends: * Nettuno pizza — tuna, olives, capers, anchovies, light on the cheese; good flavours and not overly dry like seafood pizzas can often turn out. My default order. * Salsiccia e cannellini (Italian sausages with cannellini beans, spinach, and rocket; £7.50) — very nice, well balanced, certainly a decent main-course alternative to pizza, or a suitable starter for 3-4 people. When sampled in October 2007 the cherry tomatoes were raw rather than "balsamic roasted" as advertised, but this wasn't really a problem. * Anything with prawns on; bog-standard pizza places usually manage to overcook their prawns — this is not the case here. Although the prawns are the small kind (the type you normally get in frozen half-kilo bags) they're tasty and juicy and just right. * Mixed meats with fruit (starter). Bob says: I certainly didn't feel the toppings were scanty on the last one I had. Certainly a better class of takeaway pizza. Almost exactly the way I like it. Vegans should order the Margarita pizza without cheese, and ask for specific extra toppings like mushrooms, courgettes, red onion. The Bermondsey vegans seem very happy with this. You can order online from Hungry House. <div class="last_verified">Food last sampled by Kake and bob, August 2010.</div> </div>
