Pub near Arnos Grove Station in New Southgate. It's a large space, divided into three areas inside. Entry is into the bar area, which has high stool seating as well as a couple of banquettes. To the left from here is a dining area with open kitchen, and to the right is a space for drinkers, with banquettes around the walls, a high table with eight high stools in the centre, a table football table, an AC/DC pinball machine, and a bar billiards table photo. There's also plenty of outdoor seating on picnic benches. It used to be a Harvester before its most recent makeover, and echoes of this can still be seen in the structure. Comically-large fake "roof beams" are overhead, with the planks they're made out of clearly visible. Exposed brickwork and leaded windows add interest. Kake and bob visited on a Monday afternoon in October 2018. There were about half a dozen other customers when we arrived around 2pm, spread out around the pub. Bland pop music was playing, a little louder than ideal. Three of the four handpumps were clipped, for One Mile End Dockers Delight (£4.20 for two halves), ELB Nightwatchman, and Seacider Passion Fruit. According to the Arnos Arms website as of October 2018, food is served from 9am every day (though another page of the website disagrees, and says from noon every day). The menu includes a selection of bar snacks as well as starters, mains, etc. Courgette fries (£5) photo were OK. They were coated in panko-style breadcrumbs, and some of them had lost bits of their coating before or during their time in the fryer. They were also a little greasy. The advertised "tomato salsa" was more like a lightly-spiced ketchup than an actual salsa. According to a sign seen in October 2018, there's a quiz every Monday from 7:30pm. Child-friendliness: There was a preschool-age child in on our visit. We also saw a poster on the wall advertising a nursery rhyme session on Thursday mornings. They have a small children's menu with two vegetarian options. Accessibility: Step-free to get in via a narrowish ramp with a 90-degree turn at the top. No steps to ladies' or to RADAR-locked accessible toilet.
