Traditional greasy-spoon cafe in Barking, just down the road from Upney Station.

Kake and friend visited on a Thursday afternoon in March 2014. It was fairly empty when we arrived a little before 2:30pm, but a quarter of an hour later it was quite full.

A mug of tea (70p) requested as "very weak" was exactly as asked, which many cafes seem to have a lot of trouble with. A bacon sandwich (£2) photo arrived very quickly, and was made with thick slices of good bread.

Child-friendliness: They have two highchairs, the type without trays.

Accessibility: No step to get in, just a small ridge, but the toilet (a single unisex cubicle) is up two steps with no handrail.
