Deli and sandwich shop in Cheam, near the station.
It's small, with much of the space taken up by a glass display counter holding sandwich and jacket potato fillings as well as deli items sold by weight: marinated anchovies, olives, ham, corned beef, and various cheeses. Shelves to either side hold packets of crisps, chocolate bars, and a small selection of groceries. British brands seem to predominate over Italian, though on our visit a couple of weeks before Christmas there was also a good selection of panettone.
Seating is provided by four folding chairs set around two shiny-topped cafe-style tables with copies of the Sutton Guardian and local advertising magazines set out on top.
Kake visited on a Friday morning in December 2017. I was the only customer when I arrived around 8:30am. No music was playing, but the fridges were humming loudly.
I went for one of their sandwich specials: turkey, brie, and cranberry sandwich (£2.60) photo. It wasn't real butter on the bread, but a decent quality margarine. The bread was fine though nothing special. According to the menu board, the turkey was home-cooked, and it certainly seemed to be, cut thick, well flavoured, and not dry at all. The sandwich came on a disposable plate, though a cup of tea (60p) was in a proper cup and saucer.
Service was friendly, and I got the impression they'd have been happy to chat if I wanted to.
Accessibility: No steps to get in. No obvious customer toilet.
