Good Beer Guide pub in Borough.

It's a single space now, though a large, structural-looking pillar and ceiling ridge part way down suggest it used to be two rooms. A dais by the door is home to a dartboard and oche, with wooden railings safely separating it off from the seating. Mismatched wooden chairs and tables look in some cases as if sourced from house clearance, including extensible-leaf dining tables and something with drawers that looks very like it would have once stood against the wall in someone's house. This theme is even more apparent toward the back of the space, where two tables sit in a carpeted area with fireplace, arched mirror, and standard lamp.

Walls are half-panelled, the floor is a mix of dark utilitarian carpet and bare boards, and standard bits of pub paraphernalia are here and there, including a collection of musical instruments above the bar, a naked gold-painted mannequin, a copper ewer, a stuffed antelope head, dribbly candles in old liqueur bottles, and a disco ball.

Kake visited on a Monday afternoon in September 2019. There were four or five other customers in when I arrived a little after 2pm. Music was playing, not too loud.

The handpumps were clipped for Brockley Citrus IPA, Hammerton N7 IPA, and Sharp's Doom Bar. A pint of lime and soda was £1.80. Service was friendly and helpful.

Food consists primarily of pizzas and salads.

They have free WiFi, with the network name and password written on a board above the bar.

Accessibility: No steps to get in. A small step to the gents', a tiny one to the ladies'.
