Imperial Arms, BR7 5LZ

Pub in Chislehurst.

The interior is formed of two rooms, though there's no doors between them. The decor is traditional, with burgundy predominating in the carpet and upholstered banquettes. Bar stools line the bar, with pint glasses arranged on a simple gantry above.

Kake and friends visited on a Saturday lunchtime and early evening in October 2013. There were three real ales on: Westerham Spirit of Kent (£3.50/pint), Harveys Sussex Best, and Sharp's Doom Bar. They also had Aspalls and Peroni on tap. Lime and soda was £1/pint.

Food is served from a fairly varied menu, and bar snacks are also available, including home-made sausage rolls and butterflied king prawns. Kake tried the "supreme giant scampi" (£10 including skinny fries or potato wedges) photo. Pleasingly, the scampi themselves weren't overcooked, but this came at the expense of the batter, which was soggy and bland. The potato wedges came skin-on, which worked well.

Accessibility: A step to get in at the front entrance, but there's a smaller (inch-high) step at the side entrance. Step-free to bar, seating, and toilets once you're in.
