[[Kat]]'s regular order of haddock, large chips and mushy peas comes to £9.70. The large portions of chips are very, very large - we normally get 1 large to share instead of 2 small portions. There is usually a good ratio of big fat fluffy chips to small crispy bits. The website claims that all the fish is sourced sustainably, however the menu includes skate, which the Marine Conservation Society recommends avoiding.

A popular fish and chip restaurant and takeaway in Stoke Newington, run (and supplied) by The Fishery fishmongers directly across the road.

Following a refurbishment in 2010, the walls are now pleasantly tiled in white and black, decorated with charming illustrations of local Stokey landmarks, number 73 buses and so on. Most of the space is taken up with the fresh fish counter (usually featuring at least two live lobsters) and several large wooden tables and benches. There is a small area near the front door with high bar stools for those waiting for takeaway. There is an awning and a couple of tables outside the front of the shop for sheltered al fresco dining, though that particular part of the High Street gets very busy (both with pedestrians and traffic).

There is table service for those wishing to eat in - on Friday and Saturday nights the tables are usually filled with local families and teenagers, and there is often a small queue for takeaway orders.

The restaurant is closed to the public on Sundays, but is available for private hire.

Accessibility: a low step to get in.
