It's a fairly typical Wetherspoons shop conversion, with a lowish ceiling and a room stretching back from a small frontage. Entry is into a space dominated by high stool and talble seating, but there are a few booths along the wall as you go in, and more further back alongside the bar. At the back there's a brighter area with a skylight and floor-to-ceiling windows plus plenty of normal-height seating.

When [[Kake]], Katie, and [[bob]] visited on a Tuesday evening in October 2009, there were a fair few people in at 7pm, but plenty of seats left including a couple of booths. Five real ales were on — Marstons Pedigree, Abbot Ale, Ruddles Best, Wickwar Bob (95p/half), and Caledonian 80 Shilling (85p/half) — as well as one real cider, Marcle Hill.

When [[Kake]] visited again on a Monday lunchtime in September 2017, there were again a fair few people in, most of them using the high seating at the front. There were three real ales on: Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale, and Enefeld London Pale Ale. Two more were marked as coming soon: Trumans Zephyr and Sambrooks Session.
The lighting was quite dim, aside from the silently flashing fruit machines. As with most Wetherspoons, there was no music. There were a fair few people in at 7pm, but plenty of seats left including a couple of booths.

As is usual for a Wetherspoons, food is served all day from a chain-wide menu, including breakfast.
Accessibility: Small step to get in. Level access to bar, seating area, and toilets once you're in. There is a toilet marked as accessible, but it also has a sign on it warning that the door is alarmed and you need to ask at the bar to get in.
