Historical version 10 of Hill Top Tap, DA14 6NF (view current version)

Pub in Sidcup. It was previously known as the Portrait photo, but was renamed at some point to the Hill Top Tap.

When we visited in September 2013, it was a Smith & Jones pub (Bramwell Pub Company), but according to the August/September 2014 London Drinker, it was sold to the Stonegate Pub Company in November of the same year. We haven't visited since the change of ownership, so some of the information below may be out of date.

Entry is into a fairly spacious area with the bar running along one side and various seating options including several sofas. More seating can be found up a few steps at the back, where a line of half-height booths sits opposite a wall-length banquette, with several largeish tables in between. Flatscreens are mounted here and there.

Kake visited on a Saturday morning in September 2013. The handpumps were clipped for four real ales: Courage Best, Young's London Gold, Bombardier, and Hobgoblin. They also had a couple of keg ciders: Aspall's and Magners Extra Cold. A pint of lime and soda was 45p.

There were a handful of people in at 11:30am, but nowhere near as many as in the Tailor's Chalk just down the road. Music was playing, not too loud, and fairly bland. The flatscreens were showing sport with the sound off.

According to menus seen in September 2013, breakfast is served from 10am to noon, the main menu is served until 9pm, and bar snacks are served until 11pm.

According to the Hill Top Tap website as of March 2018, quiz night is Sunday from 7:30pm.

Child-friendliness: They have at least 5 high chairs with trays (Antilop from IKEA).

Accessibility: No steps to get in, but toilets are up several steps.
