Note: The Gregorian closed in early 2010; as of March 2010 the windows are whitewashed over and there's a sign saying it's closed until further notice [http://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/4463356158/ photo]. Peering through the window, the fixtures and fittings appear to be intact (along with a stepladder) [http://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/4462574827/ photo] . According to a member of staff at the St James's Tavern up the road, the people who used to run it have left, but it should be reopening at some point.
Pub on Jamaica Road a short walk from [[Bermondsey Station]]. It's quite large inside, though some of the space is divided up into little booth-type things with half-height frosted glass privacy screens, and there's a sofa area at the back; a rather nice use of the space. There are benches and things outside where you can smoke.

The comments below relate to it pre-closure.

Bob visited on a Sunday night in April 2007; none of the handpumps were on, and a pint of lemonade and lime was charged at £3.20!

Kake and bob visited again in September 2008, this time earlyish on a Saturday evening. There were several other customers in but the place wasn't packed by any means. Slightly annoying background music was playing, but not too loudly. Two of the four handpumps were in use this time, offering Courage Best and Bombardier. A pint and a half of Bombardier plus a packet of bacon fries cost £5.05.

The BITE comments and Fancyapint review linked below suggest there's free wireless internet, but in September 2008 Kake's smartphone couldn't see any wireless networks at all.

Accessibility: One step up to get in, but then there's level access to the bar, almost all of the seating area, and the toilets; though access to the ladies' at least is via two rather narrow and heavy doors.
