Viennese restaurant at the northern end of Marylebone High Street, owned by the team behind the Delaunay and Brasserie Zedel. It's open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. While it opened in 2014, the decor inside almost convinces you it's been around since the 1930s. It's a lovely space to dine in, with art deco lines and polished wood/tiled surfaces, and most of the seating is in spacious, comfortable booths, with a few additional tables to the rear. It felt nice and cool on Kat's visit on a hot August lunchtime, and quite calm compared to the busier restaurants further down the High Street. In August 2014, Kat enjoyed the Wiener schnitzel (£11) and mash (£4.25) but probably could have gone for the larger option (£20). The wursts (£11 for two) were great though, huge and flavoursome with a good smooth texture. We had four different types: the best was the Berner Würstel, which came wrapped in bacon. There is a good range of European wines by the glass — a decent enough Riesling was £8. Service was friendly and attentive, if a bit confused at times. On a return visit in January 2015, Kat also tried the bacon spatzle as a starter, which was creamy, salty and delicious — I would definitely recommend it. Kat's verdict: Good value for the area, the food quality, and the very pleasant lunch environment. My parents loved it! Child-friendliness: the website states that there isn't enough space to accommodate buggies or prams. Accessibility: no step to get in, but the entrance features two heavy doors that are quite close to each other. Toilets are down a flight of stairs with two turns, and a handrail on one side. The toilet doors are extremely heavy and stiff. Lunch bookings can be done via email without having to confirm by telephone.
