Avoid the District Line platforms at peak times if possible; not only are the platforms packed with people, all trying to shove past you to get to a different end of the platform, but District Line trains often have to wait quite some time before they can enter the station, because it's a bottleneck due to trains from all branches trying to get through. The destination signage is also idiosyncratic and antique, making it rather hard to make sense of.

The photo shows the Earl's Court Road entrance. There's another entrance at the other end of the station, on Warwick Road photo; the Warwick Road one is the one you want for the Exhibition Centre.
