A popular bar in Soho, just off Oxford Street, which is set to close before the end of 2009 as a result of the Crossrail project.

This place bills itself as a "dining room" on the signs outside, and indeed there is a chalkboard menu with some interesting food offered. Food is served 11am-9pm Monday to Friday, and noon-9pm Saturday and Sunday. However, on a Friday evening visit, there didn't seem to be much likelihood of being able to eat food (certainly no one who had a table was).

There are quite a few tables around the room, many of which are reserved, and leather banquette chairs around the back walls. There is also (living up to the bar's name) a single solitary sofa by the door. All are of course taken by 5:30pm, so remaining drinkers are forced to stand.

Beers on tap are San Miguel, Kronenbourg and Guinness, with additional ones available bottled. The house red wine isn't particularly good, and prices are high as you'd expect (around £5 for a large glass).

It's not a bad place, and they've made an effort to try and give it some ambience, but it's location ensures that trying to have a drink here of an evening is not always rewarding.
