Another refitted Herne Hill pub, this one opposite Herne Hill Station.

The familiar dark wood look, with stripped floor, chandeliers and use of leather seating has been imported here, and it doesn't work too badly. There's still a good sized beer garden out the back which is great on a summer day, and the food menu looks to be quite good.

The ales on tap on a June 2008 visit were Black Sheep Bitter (£2.85), Bombardier and Spitfire. They've introduced a tasting menu as well for the beers, and will serve in one-third pints for £1.10 (lagers) and £1.30 (specialty beers). A tray of six thirds is available for £7. As you'd expect with this kind of refit, they also have a decent wine list, and all bottles are £10 on Tuesdays.

Food is served noon-10pm Monday to Thursday, to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and until 9:30pm on Sunday.

There's a pub quiz advertised on Mondays at 8pm.
