The Beckenham branch of Coffee Republic is a deep, fairly spacious premises on the north side of Beckenham High Street, furnished with leather(esque?) upholstered upright chairs clustered four to a round table. Food and coffee were reasonably priced for a mass market chain, with cappuccino and most similar hot coffee drinks at at £1.89, £2.25 or £2.49, drink in or takeaway. 10 of the 18 types of sandwiches (available as baguettes, bagels or wraps) were £3.45 to take away, or £3.79 to eat in, whilst a bacon and cheese muffin was around £1.50, and a cold bottled drink around £1.90.

Some of the range was not available when we visited at 3pm on a Sunday, and the staff were not aware of everything that had run out until after the order was taken, but a piri piri chicken baguette was an acceptable suggested substitute for coronation chicken. The staff were friendly and courteous, with one (male) taking time to coo over the well-behaved toddler of one of the customers. We did not try the free wireless, but there was a woman with a laptop (plugged in) who appeared to be taking advantage of it.
