<div class="inline_hint">@MAP_LINK View all Northern Line stations on a map</div> Multi-branched Tube line running roughly north-south across London. It has two southern termini, one at Morden and one at Battersea Power Station, from where trains run up to Kennington. Here the line splits, with one branch going via Charing Cross to serve Waterloo, Soho, and Fitzrovia and the other via Bank to serve the City, Islington, and King's Cross. The lines join up again at Camden Town (though both branches serve Euston, this isn't really a recommended interchange). After leaving Camden Town there's another split, with one branch heading to Edgware via Hampstead and Golders Green and the other heading to High Barnet via the various Finchley stations. A small spur off this latter branch at Finchley Central serves Mill Hill East. Most trains on the Charing Cross branch go to/from Battersea Power Station, but a few go to/from Morden, and some terminate or begin their route at Kennington. Currently, the general service pattern has trains from both the Charing Cross and the Bank branches going to both Edgware and High Barnet; however, as of early 2008, the weekday morning peak trains have been segregated, with all northbound Bank branch trains going to High Barnet and all northbound Charing Cross branch trains going to Edgware. According to London Connections, this split is permanent, and will probably be extended to off-peak hours at some point too, meaning that the Northern Line will effectively become two separate lines.
