Indian sweet shop on Brick Lane.

The original Ambala is on Drummond Street in Euston; not sure if the Brick Lane one is also run by Ambala themselves, or if it's one of their many franchises.

Like all Ambalas, this one sells various Indian sweets (halwa, barfi, ras malai, jalebi, etc) as well as some savoury items. Kake has always been a fan of their barfi, which is nicely fresh-tasting.

On Kake's April 2011 visit, service was friendly, though for some reason the person who took my order was not the person who filled it, and so I ended up with a box of mixed sweets instead of the mixed barfi I'd asked for. (Spinach samosas at 45p each were supplied without mishap.)

Accessibility: No steps to get in, and the interior is uncluttered.
