The Windsor Castle was a pub in Lower Clapton. It closed down in September 2018. According to the Dec 2018/Jan 2019 London Drinker, it will undergo residential development but is "expected to retain some sort of pub".
It was previously a fairly basic locals' pub (see older version of this page for a description) but underwent extensive refurbishment in 2013 and opened under new management on 3 May 2013, with more of a focus on local ales. It then closed again in September 2018, as noted above.
