Watch House, SE13 6JP

Wetherspoons pub in Lewisham.

It's a fairly typical Wetherspoons shop conversion, with a low ceiling and very little natural light. Some of the seating is at high chairs and tables. Like many Wetherspoons, the walls are decorated with pictures of and information about famous locals, including E Nesbit in this case.

Kake visited on a Thursday afternoon in June 2011. All ten handpumps were on, offering two real ciders (Westons Old Rosie and Vintage Organic) and eight real ales including Westerham Finchcocks Original (£1.10/half), London Pride, Deuchars IPA, Brains The Rev James, Spa Golden Ticket, Old Speckled Hen, and Ruddles.

It was quite full at 3:30pm on a rainy weekday afternoon, and although it's not a small pub I had to look around a bit before I found somewhere to sit. There was no music, though a flatscreen was showing TV silently in one corner.

Accessibility: Step-free to get in. Toilets are up a flight of stairs with a few bends and a handrail all the way up. Not sure if there's an accessible toilet on the ground floor.
