Old-fashioned Italian deli in Soho.

A service counter runs down the left side of the room, offering meats, cheeses, antipasti (e.g. sundried tomatoes, fresh marinated anchovies), and fresh pastas (both stuffed and plain). Shelves opposite hold storecupboard goods such as ground coffee, tinned tomatoes, dried pasta, and so on. Fresh bread ranges from baguettes and crusty loaves to foccaccia and ciabatta.

As well as groceries, they sell freshly-made sandwiches to eat in or take away. Seating is provided as four bar stools inside the shop and (in good weather) several small tables in the alleyway alongside.

Service is friendly and the place is family-run.

Ewan's verdict: Definitely one of the better food shops in this area.

Accessibility: A step to get in.
