Kitty's Cafe, NW10 6TD

Thai cafe in North Acton.

The cafe can seat about 30 people in a canteen style way. People just having a drink or a snack are not allowed to sit down between noon and 2:30pm. bob visited on a Tuesday lunchtime in August 2009 at about 1pm. There were quite a few customers in but still plenty of seating.

They do breakfasts in the morning. The set breakfast of egg, bacon, sausage, beans, two slices of toast, and tea is £3.20, with coffee 15p extra.

They have a choice of about five starters for lunch. bob had the spring rolls (£2.30)photo, which were okay. The sweet chilli sauce was possibly homemade and quite tasty. There are about eight main course choices with two of those being daily specials. Prawn dishes are £4.30, others are £3.70. I had the stir-fried beef with chilli, veg and ricephoto. It was nothing special but not bad for the price. The chilli was undetectable but this was okay given the chilli flakes in oil and pickled chilli carrots on the table (it's almost worth visiting just to try the pickled chilli carrots)photo. Jasmine tea was 50p.

While there are no specific vegetarian dishes on the menu it does say there are some. I suspect that means the things on the menu minus meat plus more vegetables.

bob's verdict: Not worth a trip but pretty decent food quite cheap if you happen to work in the area.
