Estate pub in Bermondsey/Rotherhithe, just to the west of [Southwark Park]?. It was taken over by new management at the start of 2009, but as of May 2009 it is closed and boarded up, with "Secured By Orbis" security firm notices plastered all over it.

The information below is retained for people who want to know what it used to be like.

Estate pub in Bermondsey/Rotherhithe, just to the west of [Southwark Park]?. There's some outside seating on a little patio, and a pool table in a separate room at the back. The main bar has a couple of quite comfy leather sofas.

Kake and doop visited on a Saturday evening in November 2008. There were only about half a dozen other customers, and most if not all of them seemed to be known to the lady behind the bar. No handpumps, no real ale. Strongbow was £2.80/pint and Tayto crisps were 60p. A music channel was playing on the TV; at times, the speakers seemed not to be quite adequate to the volume, as there was a certain amount of rattling.

Kake and bob visited again on a Tuesday evening in April 2009. There had been a change of management since our previous visit. Strongbow had gone down to £2.50/pint, and the Tayto crisps had vanished. The new landlord was having a smoke on the patio as we were leaving, and had a long chat with us about his plans, and pubs in general.

Last visited by Kake and bob, 21 April 2009.
